Fida currently serves as the Country Lead for Oman Oilfield and Industrial Chemicals at Baker Hughes. His role involves steering the business strategy, overseeing the procurement, sales, and distribution of chemicals, and managing key contracts. In this capacity, he ensures compliance with regulatory requirements while fostering strong client relationships to grow the company’s regional footprint.

Prior to his current leadership position, Fida was the Production Chemical Account Manager at ChampionX, where he skillfully managed oil production chemicals contracts and developed sales strategies that expanded market share. His extensive knowledge in negotiating and drafting contracts has been instrumental in maintaining high standards of operational performance.

A Strong Foundation in Process and Chemical Engineering

Fida’s early career was anchored in hands-on technical and operational roles that provided invaluable industry insights. He worked as a Process/Chemical Specialist at Occidental Oman (OXY Mukhaizna), where he managed daily process chemistry for water and oil processing plants. His responsibilities included:

• Monitoring oil well and water source well chemistry.
• Managing specialty and commodity chemicals such as demulsifiers, biocides, and corrosion inhibitors.
• Coordinating with technical teams on chemical optimization, corrosion control, and flow assurance.

Fida also led the Mukhaizna Central Laboratory team, overseeing all sections including oil, water, gas, and microbiology analysis. He arranged shift activities and ensured quality control, demonstrating strong leadership and team management qualities early in his career.

His foundational experience began as a Field Analyst at Nama Group, where he monitored process chemistry for multiple sewage treatment plants in Muscat, supervised junior technicians, and ensured water quality met government standards.
