Shinuna’s career began in academia, where she earned a Master’s degree and served as Head of the IT Department at Sultan Qaboos University. Her academic leadership laid a strong foundation in innovation, digital transformation, and strategic thinking. Motivated by a passion for entrepreneurship, she transitioned into the private sector, launching ventures in beauty, wellness, fashion, and event design. These experiences deepened her understanding of Oman’s evolving business landscape and the importance of resilience and adaptability.

Building a Business Legacy and Supporting SMEs

Shinuna went on to establish one of Oman’s most respected catering companies, which has served the community for over 13 years. Her entrepreneurial drive is matched by her commitment to social impact. Since 2012, she has actively supported small business development—mentoring entrepreneurs and helping them market their products online. In 2021, she launched a 3,500-square-meter commercial hub in Barka, designed to empower SMEs through a hybrid retail and e-commerce model that bridges local and global markets.

Revolutionizing E-Commerce with Metro Muscat

As Founder and CEO of Metro Muscat, Shinuna is leading one of Oman’s most ambitious digital commerce initiatives. While Metro Muscat is already operational, its broader vision—Metro GCC—is currently in development. This future-facing platform aims to become the region’s first fully integrated B2B e-commerce ecosystem, connecting suppliers, traders, and logistics partners across the Gulf. Her mission is to create a seamless digital infrastructure that empowers SMEs, enhances supply chains, and fosters regional collaboration.
