Nada Al Balushi is an Omani entrepreneur, executive leader, and Licensed Veterinary Technologist whose work spans veterinary healthcare, business strategy, operations, organizational development, and animal welfare. As Founder and CEO of Muscat Veterinary Center, she has built a career focused on strengthening veterinary services while developing people, partnerships, and initiatives with lasting impact.

Leading Muscat Veterinary Center

Since November 2016, Nada Al Balushi has served as Chief Executive Officer of Muscat Veterinary Center, bringing together her veterinary background and business leadership capabilities to guide the organization’s development.

Her role extends beyond healthcare operations into strategic planning, organizational development, stakeholder engagement, and veterinary business management. Over the course of her career, she has also collaborated with government entities, universities, private organizations, NGOs, and international veterinary associations on initiatives connected to veterinary services, responsible pet ownership, animal welfare, and professional development.

From Veterinary Practice to Entrepreneurship

Al Balushi’s professional journey began in veterinary healthcare, including her early role as a Veterinary Technician at Capital Veterinary Center in Muscat and a Veterinary Technician internship at Al Wathba Veterinary Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

Her experience subsequently expanded into executive leadership and entrepreneurship. In addition to leading Muscat Veterinary Center, she founded Muscat Grooming Center in 2023, further extending her involvement in companion animal services.

This progression reflects a career that combines hands-on veterinary knowledge with business strategy, operations, leadership, and organizational consulting.

Investing in Veterinary Leadership and Education

Education has remained central to Al Balushi’s professional development. She holds an MBA in Business from Sultan Qaboos University, a Postgraduate Degree in Veterinary Business Management from the University of Liverpool, and a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary/Animal Health Technology and related fields from Sultan Qaboos University.

She is also a Certified Veterinary Business Leader through the North American Veterinary Community and has undertaken additional professional certifications, including training connected to the Human Animal Bond Research Institute.

Her commitment to lifelong learning complements her interest in mentoring future professionals, speaking at conferences, contributing to research, and translating ideas into practical initiatives.

Contributing to the Veterinary Profession

Alongside her executive responsibilities, Al Balushi contributes to the profession through several advisory and committee roles. She serves on the Advisory Board of the Veterinary Technology Program at Sultan Qaboos University and on the Advocacy & Communications Committee of the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).

She is also a member of the Veterinary Management Group (VMG UK). Through these roles, she contributes to professional dialogue and initiatives focused on advancing veterinary practice and animal welfare at both national and international levels.
